Welcome to Linea Soma
Mary Szegda – Somatic Education & Movement Therapist | Feldenkrais Practitioner
Mary Szegda brings over 20 years of experience in somatic education, movement therapy, and body-based healing to her clients. She is the founder of LineaSoma in Connecticut, a space designed to help individuals explore movement, deepen body awareness, and reconnect with their natural vitality.
Feldenkrais Method: As a certified practitioner, Mary offers both Awareness Through Movement (ATM) classes and Functional Integration (FI) sessions that guide clients toward more ease, efficiency, and mindfulness in their bodies.
Movement & Somatic Expertise: Mary is a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT) with extensive experience in creative movement, rehabilitation, and expressive arts. Her approach integrates movement, mindfulness, and somatic principles to support physical and emotional well-being.
Trauma-Informed Knowledge: Mary has training in DBT, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Psychodrama, and Hypnosis. While these inform her somatic work, she does not provide psychotherapy or trauma therapy at Linea Soma.
Massage Therapy: She is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Washington, DC, bringing a deep understanding of body mechanics, tension patterns, and somatic alignment to her work.
A New Chapter: Mary is thrilled to bring her vision to Connecticut, creating a warm, exploratory space where clients of all backgrounds can experience mindful movement, enhanced body awareness, and a renewed sense of vitality. She hopes that Linea Soma will grow not only as a space for clients to thrive but also as a vibrant professional community for wellness practitioners, fostering connection, collaboration, and shared learning.
At Linea Soma, sessions are crafted to meet you where you are—whether you are looking to improve posture, release tension, explore movement in new ways, or simply reconnect with your body. Mary’s approach emphasizes gentle guidance, self-discovery, and practical tools that support long-lasting change.
